The number of people infected with and dying from COVID-19 continues to rise in Texas and Oklahoma, according to statistics released by state health departments Wednesday.

In Texas as of Wednesday there were an additional 1,091 (now 1,353 total) cases reported and an additional 23 deaths (now 177 total) reported. Harris (2,146) and Dallas (1,261) counties are reporting the most cases. There are currently 1,491 confirmed COVID-19 patients in Texas hospitals, 239 more than Tuesday.

Over 96,000 tests have been performed across the state, with just under 10% testing positive for COVID-19.

Locally, there are now 15 confirmed cases in Grayson County, 7 in Lamar County, and 2 in Fannin County.

As of noon Wednesday, there were 1,524 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma.
