Things To Know About Universal Parks & Resorts Coming To Frisco!

The Frisco, TX Chamber of Commerce held an informational event last night (Monday, February 6th, 2023) for business leaders in the community to learn more about the proposed Universal Theme Park and K-LAKE’s General Manager, David Smith, attended to learn more.

David tells us representatives from Universal Parks & Resorts, City of Frisco and Frisco Chamber of Commerce were on hand, sharing things business owners and residents of Frisco and North Texas should know about the proposed park.

They provided attendees a handout that covered six main points about Universal’s Frisco project:

  1. The proposed Frisco, TX park will be a one-of-a-kind theme park, unlike any other in the world, specifically designed to inspire fun for families with young children.
  2. The new park concept will feature immersive themed lands, family-friendly attractions, interactive and playful shows, character meet and greets, unique merchandise, fun food and beverage venues and a themed hotel.
  3. It will celebrate Universal’s iconic brand of entertainment, humor, and innovation and bring to life its beloved characters and stories in ways that will “wow” even the youngest theme park goers.
  4. The proposed Frisco, TX park will generate less traffic than other developments that could be built on the property, like retail, office, or multi-family. It will produce less weekday traffic than H-E-B, Stonebriar Centre and Collin College, according to a recent traffic comparison from City of Frisco officials.
  5. Universal Parks & Resorts owns 97 acres of land for the Frisco, TX development and the park will occupy roughly a third of that area. It will be designed at a size and scale appropriate for younger audiences and will include natural sound barriers – minimizing potential visual and sound intrusion.
  6. Projects like the proposed Frisco, TX theme park bring great value to communities across many dimensions, including the ability to generate tax revenue, create a variety of jobs and support local and regional businesses.
